During the NSLI-Y Virtual Events, NSLI-Y students connect virtually with youth and classrooms in the U.S. to share experiences about their host country through presentations and facilitated discussions. Events are held monthly and are theme-based, focusing on language learning and cultural topics. Some events may also align with special occasions such as Global Youth Service Day, International Education Week, or International Day of Peace.
NSLI-Y Interactive hosts two kinds of Virtual Events: Open Registration and School Connection. Open Registration events are open to the public, so anyone interested in joining the event and participating in the discussion can do so. School Connection events are opportunities for current NSLI-Y students to connect with specific language classrooms in the U.S. and are usually conducted in the target language. All Virtual Events (both Open Registration and School Connection) are recorded and posted on the NSLI-Y Interactive site, so those who are not able to attend the live event can still enjoy the presentations later. All recordings can be viewed here. Below are three options for participation in Virtual Events:
- Current NSLI-Y students, alumni or partners interested in presenting can complete this form to learn more.
- U.S. Educators interested in having their language classroom participate in a Virtual Event can complete this form to register.
