From April 17–19, the world will be celebrating Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) and young people who make a positive impact on the world through service to their communities (and their host communities). As global citizens, NSLI-Y students do much to serve their host communities while they are abroad, whether this involves helping to sort recyclables at their local recycling plant, spending time with children at an after school program, sharing their many talents with local youth or singing New Year’s songs to senior citizens.

NSLI-Y students and alumni have tons of awesome photos, videos, and memories from volunteer experiences as NSLI-Y students. What better way to join your millions of fellow global peers in the spirit of GYSD 2015 than to share your special snapshots and videos, along with short descriptions in your target language?

It’s as simple as this: Just post your NSLI-Y service photos and/or videos with “#NSLIYservice” and a short description in your target language on Instagram, Twitter, and/or Facebook.

NSLI-Y Interactive will then compile all the photos, videos and captions by NSLI-Y students and alumni into one big photo essay and feature it on the NSLI-Y Interactive website.

Thank you in advance for your participation in GYSD 2015, and we look forward to seeing and reading about your NSLI-Y service memories!
